Dear HUBI alumni,

I hope this newsletter finds you and your loved ones well during these trying times.

As is true for everyone, the current coronavirus pandemic created significant disruption for the campus in March of this year. I would like to acknowledge the students and faculty in their efforts to work through the disruption and finish up the spring semester using unfamiliar modes of instruction. I particularly want to recognize our graduating seniors whose graduation celebrations were curtailed due to the virus. However, we were able to hold a virtual graduation celebration recognizing a record number of Human Biology graduates. The accomplishments and plans of our graduates continue to inspire. Here’s to hoping that the next ceremony can take place in person.

Summer and fall in Bloomington have been quieter than usual this year. However, the University has been a hive of activity rearranging classes, organizing space, learning new ways to teach, and generally working towards a safe and fulfilling academic year. I am grateful to Assistant Director Andrew Libby, our academic advisors, Andy Ruff and Aaron Ellis, and our Administrative Assistant Casey Green for their work in preparing for next year and their support of the program.
